Primary Purpose:
This role manages and protects SDGE’s operational land rights – including easements,
licenses, franchise and joint use agreements – by interpreting and summarizing real property rights that enable the operation, maintenance, and access to facilities such as
transmission lines, poles, transformers, and underground infrastructure. It involves reviewing and analyzing legal documents (easement agreements, grant deeds, franchise agreements), maps, surveys,
construction plans, and other records to define property rights and boundaries and assess potential impacts of proposed improvements or encroachments. The position negotiates with private
developers and governmental agencies to resolve complex land use issues, prepares exhibits and legal descriptions for joint use and encroachment authorizations, and responds to inquiries regarding
easement language and rights. It also includes , monitoring land rights to prevent violations, and evaluating the feasibility of quitclaims and encumbrances under regulatory laws such as
Public Utilities Code Section 851. Collaboration is key, with close coordination across internal departments including Engineering, Environmental, Transmission Construction and Maintenance, Project
Management, Legal, Public Relations, and others.

Pay Range $86,100.00 - $129,200.00 / year
